About My Work
I have always been interested in art, and have had a
passion for sculpture in particular. For many years I
have explored, and experimented with different
materials including, paint, clay, concrete, metal,
aerated blocks, stone and wood.
My work is stimulated by lots of things, from
primitive art to everyday emotional, and visual
experience.
For the last few years I have been working mainly in
wood, doing large abstract and figurative sculptures.
My exhibitions have been featured in local and
national newspapers, art magazines, BBC Radio, and
have been on TV several times. My exhibitions have
been visited on two occasions by HRH The Prince of
Wales, at Sheffield Botanical Gardens and Welbeck.
“To me, making marks is the most important. Idea
and title are secondary. The strongest marks are the
ones I don’t remember; the subconscious.”
